The flame nearly bending in size instantaneously to 36,930 kilometers, or more than 57 rectangle kilometers, Larimer Nation Sheriff's Office Professional Official Chip Christensen said Wednesday. It had been approximated at 20,000 kilometers Weekend night.
The fast growth made the flame location larger than Ft Collins, which is 47 rectangle kilometers.
While Ft Collins was not instantly in danger by the flame, a great smoky pall put over the city of 143,000, said Stephanie Ashley, a speaker for the Larimer Gentle Community.
